Links to my movies |
Hello. I am currently showing my movies on a Special Effects site, and am storing the movies here at the archive. I was wondering if I can do a direct link from the effects site to directly link to the movie stored here. I uploaded a movie the other day, and used a direct link to the movie. It worked the first time, but the next day, the link seemed to change. One of the numbers at the beginning of the link "changed" from a 5 to a 4. Needless to say, my direct link was lost. Any idea why this would happen? Thanks for the help!!

Re: Links to my movies |
I think I understand what's going on. Don't use the links to the media that are of the form:
http://iaxxx.us.archive.org/x/blah.mov
What you want to do is get the link on the items info page by right clicking on the link and copying it. That link will look like:
http://www.archive.org/download/blah.mov
This link is persistent and should remain the same.
What is happening is that the persistent link redirects the http request to the other link, which as you saw can change.
